Questions
Before you book
If yours is not here, call or write.
Does it hurt?
Everyone feels it differently. I put a numbing product on first, and you can ask me to stop at any point.
How long does it last?
Color softens over the years, at a pace that depends on your skin, the sun and your aftercare. A color refresh brings it back, and it's on the menu.
Will I see the shape before any pigment goes in?
Yes. I draw it on you with a pencil, you look in the mirror, and I don't start until you say it's right.
What is the follow-up visit for?
Four to eight weeks after the procedure, we look at how the color settled and adjust where it needs it. I'll book it with you before you leave.
Can you improve work done somewhere else?
Bring photos and book a consultation. I'll tell you plainly whether I can improve it or whether it's better left alone.
Who should wait or ask a doctor first?
Anyone who is pregnant or nursing, takes blood thinners or other medicines that affect the skin, or has a skin or health condition near the area. Tell me at the consultation and I'll say plainly whether to book.
Can I wear makeup or get the area wet afterward?
Not for the first weeks. The aftercare page has the full list, and I'll go through it with you at the end of the visit.
How do I know the studio and artist are licensed?
The studio's body art facility permit and Monte's body art artist permit are listed in the footer of every page, and on the wall at the studio.
